Carolina United for Change Inc. began as Rainbow Push of NC, with a partnership with the Rainbow Push Coalition (Peachtree Project) headquarters in Atlanta Georgia in November 2021. Rainbow Push of NC was a Facebook inspired group, with to this date 80 members having joined. On July 21st,2022 Carolina United for Change Inc. received its amended Articles of Incorporation from the State of North Carolina making CUFC a nonprofit 501c3 organization and separating it from Rainbow Push Coalition. The first 3 members of CUFC were Joseph Brodie, Frances Bullock, and Angela Thornton and today our Steering Committee consist of those 3 and Rev. Brenda Peace, Wanda Moncrieff, Evelyn C. The Mission Statement for Carolina United for Change is to help the poor and needy and to help protect the rights of all persons regardless of race, gender, or social origin.

Immediately after receiving our Articles of Incorporation CUFC began its first project which was the establishment of a scholarship in our very name that would help fit the financial needs of a minority student at Vance Granville Community College. On Thursday September 22nd, 2022, the scholarship was awarded to Ms. Aysha Saleh at a ceremony on campus.

On November 7th2022 CUFC raised funds for those effected by Hurricane Ian which devasted the lives of many in the State of Florida. The funds were allocated to the American Red Cross and a thank you letter was placed on file signed by Gail McGovern, President and CEO, American Red Cross. Much of the funds raised were by our unselfish Steering Committee and several other CUFC member

Next on the agenda for CUFC was the Foster Care Christmas Cheer program held through the Vance County Department of Social Services. The Steering Committee and members presented gifts at Christmas time to a brother and sister combo that were in the program. Also, in December CUFC did an entry in the 2022 Vance County Christmas parade where we sung holiday cheers and greeted hundreds of parade goers along the route. CUFC closed out the year 2022 by completing the application for membership to The Henderson Vance County Chamber of Commerce receiving its official membership in January 2023.

Carolina United for Change began the year off with a Homeless Shelter project on MLK Day where they collected and disputed needy items to local shelters including funds.
